Statistik des 1. Tages – der 5. Juni:

Distanz: 29,7 km, davon 3 per Kajak, 5 per Fahrrad
Zeit: 6 Stunden 50 Minuten
Höhenmeter: 930 m bergauf, 800 m bergab

Das Kajak im etwas schmutzigem Hafenwasser von Kleinhüningen ins Wasser gesetzt. Am Dreiländereck vorbei in die Strömung. Ich paddelte 3 km gegen den Strom flußaufwärts und ich fand es ziemlich hart. Die Strömung war stärker als erwartet, und es gab Hindernisse am Ufer, zum Beispiel ein Restaurantschiff, die mir gezwungen haben, mehr in die Mitte Kurs zu richten, wo der Strom stärker ist. Aber am Ende gelang es mir in gut unter einer Stunde. Die Fahrradstrecke war ziemlich leicht, dank früherer Erkundungsfahrten. Später mußte ich viele Umwege machen – eingezäunte Villengärten auf der schweizerischen Seite der Grenze, kultivierte Acker auf der französischen Seite, ohne einen Weg dazwischen (siehe Photo). Neil begleitete mich ab Schönenbuch, die letzten 12 km. Es war sehr heiß und uns ist das Wasser ausgegangen!
